Long Off Season

Harang to be traded.  Coco Cordero to be traded.

Starting off season entry.  Will update.  I know I said that before.  I really don't have to time to have about 7500 posts in a year.

Reds Writers

Seriously, One good thing about the Reds is the coverage. I don't mean the really fake writers like us but C. Trent, PDoc, Hal McCoy and John Fay. This is a real mix. C Trent is younger and has a hip style, PDoc is insightful and yet sarcastic. He keeps it real. John Fay is the ultimate professional and Hal McCoy is the HOF veteran. A real mix. We are lucky and looking forward to the professional writing of all these men. Then us fake writers can steal from them or better yet act like they know us.

Mr RedLegs loves writers. Loves as much as a man can love another man. In a real sense not like Texas Red loves Frank. A real admiration.

Hangover from drinking the Kool Aid.. no hitting..Big old pitcher for a body and little head....I like the big head with the smaller parts below.. Mrs RL doesn't but wth.

Still on board have to be.. Red apperal is only clothing I have. Walmart still has some Dunn shirts left so maybe.

Tuesday already, Man do I have a hangover. Must be from the Kool Aid I have been drinking all spring. After the hangover and back to reality. The Reds do not have the hitting to win this year. I hate Kool Aid. I hate Kool Aid Man. Whats up with the small head and the big body. Mrs Red Legs might like this but that's not for me. I like my big old head and smaller parts below.

Anyways, I am still on board with my Reds. I have to be. It's the only clothes I have. Waiting for Walmart to have a big sale. Mom said I can get a Dunn tee shirt.

I hope it is not too late for the Reds to obtain some offence but I don't want to see them looking to obtain some old has been. We have been there with pitching and it didn't work. Jackie Jones gone.. good. Catalanotto.. No way. Sheffield.. Get real

What are the Reds running, a cradle to grave stimulus program funded by the government?

I emailed Hal McCoy and he emailed me back. Big deal. He is a nice guy so I won't write on and on about it. We perfesssil writers don't need to carry on that way.

Arroyo has a bad hand. I asked him about it, well I yelled from the cheap seats. He gave a thumbs up so he will be fine. No worries.

Tom Browning is fat. Should lose some wait, take his beer and pot money and give some to his kids. My Dad (Walter Mitty Sr) did that for me.

Thanks for all the comments. Remember: it's not a lie if you believe it.

Weekender 3.29.09

Mister RedLegs

Sunday 29 March 2009 10:35:12 am

Less than one week left for spring training in Florida for the old Red Stockings. Spring training wont be the same, well for me it really wont change since I don't get out of my trailer much as you know, but for real Reds fan that make the pilgrimage to Florida we will see how many will make that same trip to Arizona.

I think even if I had the chance or my Mom gave me an advance for a trip to spring training I think I would rather go and see the "Jerry Springer Show". For me and my family, Jerry is like our MSNBC Keith Oberman, the man you see for the real truth.

Some good new besides the pitching for the Reds: Taveras has a .400 OBP. If he does that for the year the Reds will be in the playoffs. Other good news. Hannigan continues to show that he is deserving of a starting spot on any major league team. Catching has been a week spot for the Reds and now they have two legit major league catchers.

This last week will be big for Keppinger. Could this guy go from potential starter to cut... or traded. Stay tuned. Old MRL will keep his fingers on the buttons. I will play a reporter and report any new second hand just for you.

Big Cuts.. Willy Mo Pena is out in Washington. Thrown out like an old Bush. This five tool player is five time bust of the year. Disappoints more than MRL with Mrs Red Legs. Valentine is out also. This guy was and will always be a bum. Shows how bad Reds catching was the last couple of years.

Will be gone for a couple of days. Will be back for the big game. Thanks again for your interest.

Weekend 3.28.09

Mister RedLegs

Too bad Xavier did not pull out the victor over Pitt. That would of kept the excitement going for Cincinnati basketball fans. Hope that isn't a sign of things to come. Pitts over a Cincinnati team. I certainly hope the Reds are better than the Pirates. Well, has to be some great games coming. The tourny has been lacking this year in buzzer beaters but all the number one teams are still alive and some great games to come.

Pitching esp starting pitching continues to be the Reds strong point but they will have to score some runs somehow. Hopefully they can get their starting 8 in there a lot this week and start pulling it together. How about a projection for the Reds this year? Old MRL will give you one after consulting with some of my friends. I need to do some research with Walt. No, not that Walt. You know no one here has any contacts. Walt is my barber. He keeps me clean and cuts any loose strings I may have. Walt knows everything. I learned a lot about him to become what I am.

Marty B said the Reds needed to improve catching, leadoff and SS and that these need were greater than a RH vet LF. Marty B is my plumber. Great guy. No plumber crack with him. AGon is still hurt and I am not sure he how much we can count on him during the year. I know Dusty is worried. Dusty is my neighbors dog but he knows more about playing ball that the Reds Dusty. Wow, catching has not improve. Hernadez throw like a girl. Worst I have ever seen in my years and years of covering baseball over the radio. Don'T ask me about seeing over the radio. I hope Taveras can get his OBP up. He will be an improvement over Patterson but not sure if he will be in the top third of leadoff hitters in terms of OBP.

So to sum it up old MRL is not sure the Reds have really addressed their off season concerns. One more week and we play for real. As always I will be by my radio and computer covering it second hand. Pitching can carry the Reds but with bad defense at catching and SS.. well time will tell along with me.

How about the comings and going in KY. Louisville is ROLLING and KY is REELING. Billy must of really tied one on after getting the axe. Billy sure did not bleed KY blue but did bleed KY Bourbon. Man sure did love a sort every now and again.. and again.. and again
